March 2014

March 15 2013
Continued taking 30mg of Methimazole and 40-120mg of Propanolol everyday.  Today I noticed my weight gain and puffiness of my body.  My body puffed up like that marshmallow character from ghostbuster.  I sent a message to my doctor informing her about my weight gain.  Since my last doctor visit, I've gained 5lbs now at 130lbs.  I asked her if I can start working out.  My average BPM was around 82-87 & 91x1.

March 16 2013
I had Hives & muscle spasms today.

March 17 2013
The doctor replied back and said I have to cut down what I eat to half of what I used to.  She also said recheck my labs now and she'll let me "go back to intense work out, if they look better.  Not-intense work out is fine for you now while we wait for your lab results".  So I went online and rechecked my labs from feb 19 and the values were high.  I thought that's what she meant.

March 18-21 2013
I had Hives & muscle spasms today.  I've been googling a combination of keywords, "hives muscle spasms methimazole propanolol.  Some sites suggested that hives maybe one of the side effects of Methimazole.

March 22 2013
I thought the hives and muscle spasms were going to go away, but it didn't.  So I sent a message to my doctor.

March 24 2013
A NP called me and said my meds doesn't cause hives and muscle spasms.  She also said to continue my meds.  She also informed me that I have a standing order of blood test.  So I guesses this is what my doctor meant when she said to recheck my labs now.  That I have to go and get my blood drawn at the lab.   Now it made sense.

March 25 2013
I went to the blood drawn place around noon.  My results came back T4=.4 & T3=1.6
The doctor told me to stop Methimazole until my next doctor visit this week.

March 28 2013
I went to see my doctor today.  She told me that I need to stop Methimazole because of my hives and itchiness.  She said I should consider RAI.  Well when she told me that, I was disappointed.  From reading different forums about my Grave's disease and RAI, my Grave's would get worst if I take RAI.  So I told my Dr, to reconsider and put me on lose dose Methimazole because RAI will not going to be an option for me.  If it doesn't work out then will talk about other options.  I felt pressured at that time by my Dr.  Good thing my husband was researching about this also and really encouraged me not to do the RAI.  So I was put on 10mg/day of Methimazole after I left the Dr's office and then just go back on 4/9 or 4/10 for blood test to see where T4 & T3's are at....
