May 1 2014
My pulse when I woke up was at 77.
I took 5mg of methimazole at breakfast.
My highest pulse was at 111 doing errands, consoling my toddler as he doesn't want to let go of a toy at the store and going out in a 96 degree weather. It was very hot.
So before taking my son to my brother's house to go swimming. I took one propanolol 20mg.
My pulse went down to 83-89.
Towards dinner time, I took another 5mg of Methimazole. I just didn't want take any chances to get into hyper because I was experiencing hot temperature sensitivity. Although today was a very hot day. My pulse prior to bedtime was at 95BPM.
May 2 2014
I woke up with a pulse of 67. I took 5mg of methimazole at breakfast. So far a good start.
After waking up my pulse went up to 90 with other factors contributing to it like playing with the kids, long driving(1 hour) and errands.
I played just dance. My HR was from 97-103 for 20mins.
Within 3 hours of playing that game my pulse came down 81-89.
I didn't want to take anymore propanolol but I have to. I can't just stop taking it suddenly. According to the post from other websites that I've been reading it might cause more harm than good to my heart. So right before bed time I took 10mg of propanolol.
I felt my body puffing up and skin hardening today. I probably overdose on these meds.
May 3 2014
Pulse rate at 67 just waking up still in bed. Pulse rate at breakfast was at 80. I took 2.5mg of methimazole.
Maybe the puffiness of my body will decrease.
I worked out today on the treadmill and dumb bells . 40 mins, Pulse at 141 ave, 358 cal burned. There was a mild muscle spasm after working out but maybe I just needed to drink water. So far no muscle spasm towards the end of the day.
At bedtime my pulse was at 74, so I took 10 mg of proanolol.
May 4 2014
Woke up with a pulse at 72. I took 5mg of methimazole
Muscle was sore due to working out yesterday. Good news!! I wasn't having episodes of muscle spasm. I will take muscle sore anytime rather than sudden muscle spasms. I googled propanolol and muscle spasm together. I found out that propanolol causes muscle spasm. I thought it was methimazole. Today I can't tell anymore if I am hypo or hyper. I will go to the lab tomorrow to get my blood drawn. I was experiencing cold temperature sensitivity but pulses averaging in the 80s so I concluded that I was probably normal at this point.
I took 10mg of propanolol prior bedtime.
May 5 2014
My pulse waking was at 73.
I took 5mg of methimazole.
After breakfast, I thought my pulse was a bit high upper 70s. For the past few days it was in lower 70s around this time. So I took another 2.5mg before taking my son to the mall. Walking around at the mall my pulse was upper 90s lower 100s. Then it went down all the way to 81 prior to working out. My treadmill speed was at 4. 300cal burned for 2 miles. It took me 35mins. I went to the lab around 8:00 PM to get my blood drawn.
At night I took 10mg of propanolol
May 6 2014
Pulse at 69 when I woke up in bed. I took 5mg of methimazole at breakfast. Highest pulse was at 82.
I noticed dry skin on left hand and a bit itch. Got the results from last night's blood test.
Dr said I have to hold on methimazole for a week. I replied back asking her to clarify how long should I stop and how many mg of methimazole should i continue with.
Took 10mg of propanolol at night.
T4=0.4 T3=2.4
May 7 2014
I woke up and my pulse was at 70bpm.
I received an answer from my doctor.
I have to stop methimazole until this Friday, then on Saturday start 2.5mg of methimazole. Now my next question would be when should I go and get my blood drawn again? I guess, I'll take it one step at a time and see how I feel. It's kinda coming together. Now if I feel a bit scaly on my left hand that means I'm getting too much of methimazole. As far as water retention, propanolol was the culprit. The dry itchy skin decreased towards the end of the night.
Took 10mg of propanolol at night.
May 8 2014
Woke up my pulse was at 73bpm. Methimazole still on hold. Prior working out my pulse was at 79. C BM
I still have water retention and a bit of dry skin. Hopefully it clears out tomorrow. BPM today was at higher 80s to lower 90s.
Took 10mg of propanolol before bed time.
May 9 2014
Woke up with 72BPM. Methimazole still on hold. Prior working out my pulse was at 79. C BM
I still have water retention and bit of dry skin. Stayed at my bro's house today. Had a bit of a headache before going to sleep. Maybe because I ate lunch really late.
Took 10mg of propanolol before bed time.
May 10 2014
Woke up with 73 BPM. I took 2.5mg of Methimazole today. BPM today was at higher 70s to lower 80s. I took 10mg of Propanolol at night.

May 12 2014
Woke up with 78BPM. I took 2.5mg of Methimazole. BPM was at upper 80s to lower 90s. I noticed dry skin on my hand. I ate boiling crab crawfish today.
May 13 2014
Woke up BPM at 77. C BM today after waking up. I noticed I have scaly skin on my hand. I took 2.5mg of Methimazole. I did my workout today with a HR average of 150BPM. At the end of the day, my husband came home from work complaining about the hot weather. I told him it's not that bad. It felt like it was 70-75F. He said it's 94F outside. Then he asked "which are you right now, it is hot and you feel cold"? I said hypo(sensitive to cold). I didn't put clues together up until now. I must be overdosing on Methimazole again(scaly skin) and the hot weather didn't even bother me. So tomorrow I will hold on Methimazole for one day not to exceed more than 2 days as per Dr's orders if I noticed hypo symptoms.
May 14 2014
Woke up BPM at 79. Normal BM after waking up. I checked the weather app and it looks like it will be a 94F today. Stopping Methimazole today. I did my workout 140 is my average BPM. At noon time I could feel the warm weather. I was pretty happy that my body was detecting right temperature today. I actually felt great today. I will check my skin tomorrow if it clears up in the morning.
May 15 2014
Woke up with 71BPM. C then D BM. My skin was kinda clearing up. Took 2.5mg of Methimazole. Since I've been on Methimazole I usually don't get hungry unless I starved myself. I noticed some hunger today. Going to the lab tomorrow to see where my T4 & T3 are.
May 16 2014
C BM. Woke up then went to the lab to get my blood drawn. At the lab there was this lady complaining, I stood in that line for 15-20 minutes waiting for her. She didn't want anyone to get thru. At that point I have a hunch that my results would be close to the standard range because I didn't care that much about waiting in that line hearing that lady complained. After I got home I decided to hold on Methimazole for today until I get my results. I did my workout today. At dinner time my husband gave me 1 glass of wine. After dinner I just felt the wine hit me pretty quick. I was drunk and had a headache. It felt like I was hungover. My husband came in the room and said our son wants to go to the park and to come and picked them up afterwards. I said I can't drive, I'm drunk. He said OK and I continued to try and rest. After 3 hours, I just noticed my son trying to wake me up. I got up and drank more water. I felt like throwing up. After an hour during that time, I noticed my hungover was getting better. The wine hit me hard quick and it was also quick to get out of my system. I am now officially lightweight when it comes to alcohol. At 10pm, I received a message from the doctor "Your thyroid level is almost normal. Please continue your current treatment if you are feeling and doing well. "
Blood test results: T4= 0.8 T3 = 4.5
May 17 2014
C BM. Since my results for T4 & T3 were close to normal range last night, I've decided to hold on Methimazole for one more day. Today was a good day. I was less stressed. I did my workout and even some chores around the house.
May 18 2014
N BM. Woke up from a bad dream then checked my pulse 82BPM. Maybe that's why it's a bit high. I took 2.5mg of Methimazole. I noticed my weight was going down since May 16 2014, now I'm at 130.6. My workouts were finally paying off. I think as long as Im close to standard range on my T4&T3, I could see results of my weight loss with my workouts. But if I'm hypo it will be highly unlikely to lose the weight. I was so glad with my T4&T3 results last Friday, because it was kind of frustrating not seeing results for my workouts for a good 2 weeks.
May 19 2014
This morning my pulse was at 75BPM. My scaly hand looks better today.

N BM. 82bpm waking up, I had another dream. I took 2.5mg of Methimazole. I was a bit nervous going to the dentist today, although I shouldn't have. Maybe because I only slept for 5-6 hours last night. I felt jumpy like I have an anxiety feeling. Towards noon time I was tired and needed some nap time. After taking a nap, I felt better. I could still feel a little anxiety. I decided to get my blood drawn to see where my T4 & T3 are. I went to the lab at 8:00pm.
May 23 2014
N BM. 76BPM waking up. I weighed myself and now I'm at 128.6. I received the results of my blood test in the afternoon. Blood test results: T4=1.1 & T3=5.3

N BM. When I woke up my pulse was at 69-74BPM. Then before cooking breakfast it was at 82BPM with a blood pressure of 109/64. I took 2.5mg of Methimazole. A little jumpy prior Methimazole but after my anxiety went away. I drank some mix drinks at noon and 1&.5 shots of vodka at night with friends. I didn't get the same buzzed as when I drank wine the other day. I was trying to test my limits on alcohol.

N BM. 79BPM when I woke up. I woke up late today about 7:30AM. I was probably tired from the Memorial day weekend. After working out, I was tired throughout the day. My Dr replied back and said I could stop my propanolol intake. I still smell cigarette smoke and knees still bothering me.

I went to get my blood drawn tonight. I wanted to make my blood drawn time consistent.

75 BPM waking up then85 BPM during breakfast. My pulse is still a bit high. I wanted to take Methimazole but I'm still waiting for the blood test from last night. I could still smell cigarette smoke but only a little bit not like a lot during the past couple of days. My knee still felt funny. Finally the results came in with my Dr's comments to double up my dose because I'm getting more hyperthyroid. I only took 2.5mg of Methimazole. I wanted to see how far will this dose get my T4&T3 down. Throughout the day my BPM was 95-99 then going down towards the end of the night.
T4=1.8
T3=7.5

Woke up to 77-80BPM. I took 2.5mg of Methimazole during breakfast. After an hour I started working out. My knees were still bothering me. Post work out my pulse is 109BPM, so I took another 2.5mg of Methimazole. I change me mind about taking 2.5mg everyday until Thursday. I'll just follow what my doctor said. Towards dinner time my pulse went down to 96. Then prior to bedtime my pulse was about 83BPM. Maybe I'll just take 2.5mg of Methimazole tomorrow. Knee joints still hurting and the cigarette smell was still there.
